Getting the "Spring" Back Into Your Step



SPRING is finally here! What a difference warmer weather makes on our mood and our outlook on the days ahead.  It's almost as if spring brings us a natural boost of energy - which means it is the perfect time to set goals and achieve them right before summer!   1. Spring Clean-  It’s time to clear the clutter! This may seem like a daunting task, especially when you think about cleaning your entire house (eek!), but one strategy that works well is starting with the hardest and most cluttered room first. Let's say it's your bedroom. Do you have clothes in your closet that you haven’t touched in a year? Donate them! Have papers and receipts stacked up in your bedside table? Go through and shred them! After purging items, deep clean that room.  When you go to bed at night, you will be able to sleep better and relax even more knowing that when you wake up, everything is wonderfully clean and organized! Then, it's on to the next room! ;)



  1. Go Outside - Spring means no more bulky winter jackets! Throw on a hoodie (or tank if it's warmer) and hit your favorite walking trail with a friend.  Your kids have also have been stuck inside all winter, so encourage them to go outside and play. The fresh, crisp air of spring is exactly what the doctor ordered after this long winter.

  1. Cook Fresh Meals-  Are you bored with your same old spaghetti dish? Head to your favorite farmers market or even find a local farm where you can pick your own produce in order create a one-of-a-kind fresh dinner your family will LOVE!   2. Begin Everyday with a Positive Thought- Start your morning off right and begin each day with a positive thought. One way to do this is to look up a quote each week that relates to one of your personal goals, write it on a post-it note, and stick it on your bathroom mirror. That way, as soon as you wake up and begin to brush your teeth, you will be reminded to start the day on a good "note" (no pun intended!).

  3. Change Your Look- Spring time = a new spring wardrobe! Eyeing that floral dress at the mall? Thinking about adding highlights your hair? Go for it! How about a new headband for that new do?
