So, Mavi Bandz just finished our first trip to America's Beauty Show in Chicago, and it was such a fun and crazy experience!  We saw more strange, hilarious, and just plain cool things than you could imagine, and we found inspiration everywhere, especially in all of the different hair styles and colors.  We met some super funky stylists, saw some really neat products, and made lots of new friends.  Here are some of our favorite products from this year's show:

Argan Oil / Moroccan Oil

My #1 most addictive product this year?  Hair oil!  I love both Argan Oil and Moroccan Oil because they help your hair shine and make it feel super soft and smooth, but not greasy.  They have tons of different products, including some really great ones for heat-treated hair if you use the blow dryer or flat iron often.  
My personal favorite is the Agadir Argan Oil Spray-in Treatment - you just spray it on your hair (I usually use right after the shower), and it boosts your shine and silkiness factor.  I even spray it on my 2-year-old's hair to keep it extra smooth!  It smells delicious too.  I just bought the Argan Hair Spray this past weekend, so I'll report back!  Check out their Facebook pages for more info on these awesome oils:


The Wet Brush

This hairbrush rocks!  It totally delivers on it promise to run effortlessly through your hair without pain.  You can use it on all kinds of hair: wet, dry, thick, curly - it's awesome, and people swear by it!  Apparently, they use some kind of magic bristles - whatever it is, I'll take anything that can tame my 9-year-old gymnast's wild and crazy hair with no fighting and tears!  Check it out here:
Dreamcatchers Hair Extensions


Ok, I am not an extensions person, but if I were, I would totally use something like this product.  Instead of using glue or weaves, these can just snap or bead right into your hair (refer to the hair feather trend of a few years ago).  There were tons of other really amazing looking extensions companies too with hair that comes in every color under the rainbow.  The above picture shows the coolest use of extensions we saw at the show - WOW!  He'll be ducking all day, for sure.  Check out Dreamcatchers for the latest trends in extensions:
Backstreet's Back!!!


This one takes the cake...we got the chance to meet and chat with the Backstreet Boys.  They were making a special guest appearance, so we stopped by to drop off some special Mavi goodie bags for each of their wives and daughters.  Nick and Howie were great, and a special shout-out to Nicola Milan Beauty and LashNow for helping us share the Mavi Love!!!  

We left the show amazed and confused, but most importantly, with a new appreciation for the hair industry and all the latest trends.  We will be hitting the drawing board and coming out with some amazing "beauty show" inspirations for a whole new line of bands...stay tuned!

Friday Favorites! (June Edition)

We are so excited to be back again doing the SECOND installment of our Friday Favorites blog series!  We just got back from exhibiting at the Premiere Beauty Show this past weekend, and let’s just say, all of the of the products, people, and talent at the show was out of this world!
