FINALLY!  The weather is getting warmer in the Chicagoland area, and people are heading outside to complete their daily workout.  What’s YOUR favorite outdoor exercise?

 If running is the answer, then you’re in the right place!  Are you looking to challenge yourself to a race, or raise money for a cause that speaks to you?

 The #MaviSquad has put together a list of the top 6 Spring Races in the Chicagoland area that YOU should know about… Either as an advanced marathon runner, intermediate (5k dabbler), or complete beginner.  Participate in these races this spring or put a reminder in your calendar for next year (& start training NOW!)

1. Mother’s Day Run/Walk on Sunday, May 8th
Location: Barrington, IL
Length: 5k Run, 5k Walk
Start time: 8:00am
Cost: $34.99

 2. Chicago Spring Half on Sunday on Sunday, May 22nd (ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT)
Location: Chicago, IL
Length: 13.1k, 10k, Junior Dash
Start time: 7:00am
Raising Money for:  Multiple Teams for These Charities
Cost: Half Marathon - $105, 10K - $70,  Junior Dash - $15
(Chicagoland Half Marathon Series- $200  (Includes fee to Chicago Half Marathon in September 2016)

3. Soldier Field 10 Mile on Saturday, May 28nd
Location: Soldier Field, Chicago, IL
Length: 10K
Start time: 7:00am
Raising Money for:  Salute Inc.
Cost: $90

4.  United Run for the Zoo on Sunday, June 5th
Location: Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL
Length: 10K, 5K, and Safari Stampede
Start time: 7:45am- 5K, 8:30am - 10K, 10:00am - Safari Stampede
Raising Money for:  Lincoln Park Zoo
Cost: 10K = $44, 5K = $39, Safari Stampede = Sold Out

 5. North Shore Classic Half Marathon & 5K on Sunday,  June 5th
Location: Highland Park, Chicago, IL
Length: 5K and Half Marathon
Start time: 7:00am 5K, 7:30am Half Marathon
Raising Money for: Misericordia Heart of Mercy
Cost: Until May 15th - Half Marathon = $74 , 5K = $44

6. Espirit de She Triathalon on Sunday, June 12th
Location: Naperville, IL
Length: Triathalon - .5-mile swim, 13.3 mile bike, 3.1-mile run
Start time: 7:00am
Raising Money for: Multiple Charities
Cost: Thru May 26th  = $100 (Sprint), $140 (Relay Team, 2-3 People)

Make sure you find Mavi Bandz at the Mothers' Day Race in Barrington, the Chicago Spring Half in Chicago, and the Espirit de She Triathalon in Naperville!

Friday Favorites! (June Edition)

We are so excited to be back again doing the SECOND installment of our Friday Favorites blog series!  We just got back from exhibiting at the Premiere Beauty Show this past weekend, and let’s just say, all of the of the products, people, and talent at the show was out of this world!
